The “Labour In Mining – Working Group Newsletter 2025
Dear members of the Labour in Mining – Working Group.
First of all, we wish you a happy new year 2025 !
We warmly welcome you to LIM’s eighth Newsletter. For the few members who recently joined us, this is a periodic update on the activities of the Working Group.
During this year 2024, LiM group has worked quite hard to set up plenty of new projects and activities : conferences, blog series, workshops, collaborative projects, and many more !
What we did
5th ELHN- Conference – Uppsala 11-13 June 2024
LiM participated in this conference with two panel sessions and more than twenty speakers. You can access to the complete program here.
We explored how the global circulation of labor, knowledge and technology in the mining industry across centuries has been deeply intertwined with economic structures, environmental transformations, and shifting social dynamics.
This conference took place as a hybrid event, involving many scholars and raising very interesting discussions.
Thank you all for your contribution !
