CFP #5: New Directions in Coal Mining History University of Wolverhampton 9–10 September 2020
A call for paper that might interest our followers and members:
“To mark the culmination of the ‘On Behalf of People: Work, Community and Class in the British Coal Industry, 1947–1994’ project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, we will be hosting a two-day conference exploring new perspectives on coal mining history. We welcome fresh approaches to coal mining history from any country and time period. Subjects that are welcomed include:
Political and social identities
Industrial politics
Deindustrialization
Memory and heritage
Changing landscapes
Cultural representations of coal
Please submit an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with a one-page CV, by Friday 8 May 2020 to B.Curtis@wlv.ac.uk .
